Dinah Rodriguez is a Brazilian yoga-therapist, graduated in Philosophy and Psychology at the University of Sao Paulo.
With 45 years of yoga practice behind her, a thorough study of ancient texts on yoga and an exploration of the practice of QiGong, she is composing in collaboration with her gynecologist, Dr. Luciano M. Nardoza, a sequence of exercises to reactivate the production of hormones.
She finalized her series in 1991 and since then has traveled to Europe and the United States to share and teach her method.
Who is hormonal yoga for?
There is a series for men and a series for women. The results of this technique originally created for women were very surprising and a few years later, Dinah Rodriguez oriented her research to propose a male version.
If you are hearing about Hormones yoga for the first time, the term can be a little scary. One can imagine that it is for those who have hormonal imbalances or for
women in menopause.
Well, no, not just that. Far from it. In fact, hormone yoga is preventive, it's a healthy lifestyle.
For men, from 45 years old to prevent and reduce the inconveniences of symptoms related to andropause, appearing around the age of 60.
For women, this yoga helps to boost hormones and to feel fulfilled at any age: from the age of 35, as a prevention, if you go through the different stages of menopause, suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome, or in times of stress, depression or anxiety attacks, if you are concerned by hypothyroidism...
This yoga is also for women with infertility problems, for women of all ages who have low hormone levels. Also teenagers with menstrual cramps, depressions. Any contraindications?
Given its real effectiveness, Hormone Yoga is contraindicated in cases such as breast or prostate cancer, advanced endometriosis, severe hyperthyroidism, heart problems and, of course, pregnancy.
How do I join a hormonal yoga class?
Learning the series is open to everyone and does not require any yoga experience. Mastering the series of exercises requires about fifteen hours of class time and then being able to practice it alone at home, in one hour, preferably on an empty stomach in the morning or before dinner.
The 4-hour introductory courses allow a perfect understanding of the series. I propose about 1 per month or every 2 months, you can then join the group lessons. The postures are rather simple and do not present any particular difficulties.
This practice is taught by experienced yoga teachers who have completed Dinah Rodriguez's certified training.
